Planning - Detailed Risk Assessment

These are the key factors we need to take into consideration:

Equipment - Although completed, edited and distributed footage may look perfectly orchestrated, a lot of time goes into planning ways in which we can avoid potential damage to equipment, and even more importantly the performers in our videoWe intend to use a 'figrig' for our music video. In order for our equipment to remain safe, we must guarantee that we know how to set up/use the 'figrig' properly:
- It is vital that the person filming uses two hands on the wheel whilst filming, dropping the wheel will most likely lead in the breaking of the camera.
- Finally, We must slide the camera onto the UV plate smoothly without forcing to prevent breakage of the metal clips in the side which keep the camera stable.

After watching this tutorial on how to use a fig-rig, I felt much more comfortable with handling them. I can confidently say I'm prepared to film!

External Factors - Most of our video is going to be shot outdoors, we understand that the environment is both unpredictable and uncontrollable. We’re all aware wet weather can cause significant long-term damage to the cameras and any accessories attached, therefore it is important we avoid filming in the rain unless we use protective equipment/covers. Rain could also make members of our group slip potentially hurt themselves - this will only result in wasting our valuable filming time. We must ensure that sensible footwear is used even if conflicts with our original plans.

Proof theft can happen easily
Theft - There is always a risk of theft when filming amongst the public, this is how we attempt to prevent it from happening:
- Discreet Location - Statistically thefts are more likely to occur if you’re in a discreet area. Though some of our scenes take place along alleys, we’ve ensured that we’re not shooting too far away from the main street. Also, we don’t plan on filming too late. With the time-zone working to our advantage, we should be able to film our third verse - which takes place at night - around 5/6 in the afternoon
- Keeping An Eye On Equipment - Video cameras cost a lot. We intend to keep our eye on equipment at all times.
Internal Hazards - We will be filming our second verse in Dionne’s house, though there is not much to film, we’re cautious and have taken these factors into consideration:
- Stairs/Steps in Dionne's house could result in people falling over.
- Pets could also cause damage by toppling over camera if it was to be on a tripod, however, Dionne does not own any pets so this wouldn't need to be taken into consideration.
